Jimmie Johnson took over the points lead on Sunday, after recording his fifth win of the season in the Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

The win gives Johnson a 12-point lead over Mark Martin, who finished fourth on Sunday, in the driver standings. The rest of the Top 5 in the standings included Juan Pablo Montoya in third, Tony Stewart in fourth and Jeff Gordon in fifth.

Following Johnson over the finish line in the Pepsi 500 were Gordon in second, Montoya in third and Martin in fourth. Stewart was fifth, Carl Edwards was sixth and David Ragan was seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 at Auto Club were Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick.

The Chase continues on Saturday night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with the NASCAR Banking 500.
